Speak Your Heart

All you do is sit there in silence
Because you know that once your heart speaks,
Even though the first few sentences;
It will cause someone else’s soul to break.

So you choose to sit with anxiety
And eat next to depression
Because in times of uncertainty,
You call them friends who give more attention.

When loneliness wraps around you,
They’ll stay inside your mind and soul
But honey, they come to break your heart too
Leaving you traces of pain with a dark hole.

Know that there’s an old and truest friend
Who’s waiting for you to speak and burst —
He’s a man from above who never gives you thirst
Yet a love that is unconditional and never bends.

Breathe

Early morning busy streets and a calling bus
All she wants is to see red on the traffic light—
Hoping that there is something left between us;
Because today is something she barely fights.

If the world clock will be this fast and furious,
Then she hopes there’ll be another world she’ll see in a day
Somewhere that will be calm and curious
A world that will ask her, “How are you doing today?”

This world has lived in human-driven fantasies—
Where demands, pressure, and guilt should be felt
For once, she wants to rest and keeps her sanity,
And throw away all the care left and loosen her belt.

When this happens, she hopes you’ll understand
In the meantime, she wants to run and hide
Without a need to shrive on where she stands;
So air can embrace her to breathe and confide.
